Admission Requirements:


The Institute of Bodywork Studies evaluates each applicant without discrimination regarding age, gender, race, nationality, religion, creed, or marital status. To be admitted to the Institute of Bodywork Studies a student must meet the following basic criteria: 

 

¨ Be physically, mentally and emotionally capable of completing the selected program.

 

¨ Take a tour of the facility with a designated staff member.

 

¨ Complete and submit an application with a $100 non-refundable application fee.  This fee will be applied to the cost of tuition

 

¨ Be free of any criminal convictions.  An applicant may be ineligible for registration if he/she has been convicted of, entered a plea of nolo contendere or guilty to, or received deferred adjudication to crimes or offenses involving prostitution or sexual offenses, or convicted of a violation of the Act within the past five years.

 

 

 

Tuition and Fees:

Tuition fees are $2695 which covers the 300-hour basic Massage Therapy Training program and text books.  Scrubs are required dress code, students can receive a 15% discount at Scrubs Etc in Lewisville. by providing enrollment application.

Previous Education and Training:

 

If a student wishes to receive credit for previous training they have completed they must submit an official transcript to the Department of State Health Services for evaluation and approval.  The course-work must have been completed within the last five years to be considered for credit.  The Department of State Health Services will provide a written approval that will be placed in the student's file.

 

 

 

Graduation Requirements:

In order to graduate from the Institute of Bodywork Studies a student must have:

 

¨ 
Completed all assignments and or paperwork needed to replace incomplete grades or make-up work.

 

¨ Completed  the state-required 300 hours of training and maintained a satisfactory grade of 75% or better.

 

¨ Complete the state-required Internship. Met all financial obligations to the Institute of Bodywork Studies.

Text Box: Our Basic program is state approved and designed to prepare students for the 500 hour curriculum for the purpose of fulfilling the licensing requirements for the State of Texas. The renowned massage industry professional organization, Associated Massage and Bodywork Professional, abmp.com, has  endorsed our curriculum, as well as the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.     This fee is waived if tuition is paid in full.  Students are required to wear maroon scrubs.
